TMM’s first official hire back in 2016, Jodie Brown is a gigantically talented Marketing Strategist.
Jodie is one of those super awesome (but kinda strange) people that enjoys working in excel and goes a bit mad for a good dashboard. She loves to take a large amount of information and data and distil it down into a story for stakeholders. Get into the nitty gritty and understand that problem… tick!
Despite these amazing skills, Jodie’s most loved contribution to the office is Teddy, her dog. The TMM sparkly unicorn team loves it when Teddy comes to visit.
To help us get to know Jodie we had Jacqui Daley, our Founder and Managing Director, ask her a few quick questions.
Have you always worked in Marketing?
I studied a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) (Hons) from UNSW and later went on to do a Grad Cert in Marketing with Monash.
I’ve worked in market insights and strategy for over 16 years across a diverse range of sectors including Information Technology, Finance, Gaming and Higher Education. But I’ve also spent time as a Regional Marketing Manager, Customer Engagement Manager, Web Team Manager and at one time as a quasi-Executive Officer/2IC to a Director of Marketing and Communications.
I’ve experienced both the client and agency worlds when it comes to understanding markets and developing marketing strategies. Working on the client side I’ve commissioned and managed bespoke market research projects. On the agency side, I’ve conducted many a focus group and in-depth interview.
I’ve also completed development courses in Financial Management, Leadership and Change Management.
We all love your inquisitive and analytical nature; how do you apply it to our work at TMM?
TMM is driven by a belief in data-driven decision making. My market research, data analysis, desk research and surveys provide the insights on which we build our marketing strategies.
I’m also responsible for the reporting framework and dashboards we use to monitor, review and optimise activities each month for our clients to ensure they are getting the best outcomes for their business.
